The Gower and Carmarthen Bay Experience

Pembrey Park / Cefn Sidan

Enjoy the freedom to wander around 202 hectares of glorious parkland, and take advantage of one of the best beaches in the United Kingdom and use the host of excellent family attractions found in the Park. Pembrey boasts a fantastic mix of traditional seaside attractions such as crazy golf and beach entertainers coupled with more modern facilities such as an impressive dry ski slope, toboggan run and a charming miniature railway. As well as all this, there is a horse riding event course and walks through the forests as well as camping facilities for tents, caravans, toilets and showers.

Described as one of Europes best beaches Cefn Sidan's eight mile stretch of long golden sand fronting the park is one of the treasures of the Pembrey Country Park. With its lifeguards and flat sands this safe friendly beach provides excellent access and facilities for disabled visitors and young children. Sand yachting, kite flying and para sailing are also popular here with safety very much in mind with zoned off areas for these activities.

Abutting the Pembrey Park is the famous Asburnham Golf Course, known as one of the best links golf courses in Wales and won this accolade from the famous Harry Vardon "The course I like the best in Wales is Ashburnham".

Close to Pembrey Park is the Pembrey Race Circuit, the National Motorsport Centre of Wales. It has played host to some of the biggest names in international motorsport, and continues to be a much-valued testing and racing facility that brings a lot to the Llanelli area of Carmarthenshire.

Near to the race circuit is Pembrey Airport. Voted winner of the Airfield of the Year for 2000 by Flyer Magazine, Pembrey Airport is proud to boast a facility that is welcoming and unique for those who visit.

About 2 miles away is the new horse racing course of Ffos Las opening in 2009 and opposite this Glyn Abbey Golf Club.
