The Black Lion Inn is a real hidden gem. It is tucked away in the small hamlet of Abergorlech. Set on the bank of the River Cothi and flanked by the medieval church the pub itself is almost as old as the church with parts dating back to the 1600s. Inside, old black beams, stone flagged floors and an inglenook fireplace all add to the considerable charm. Mine hosts at this enchanting old hostelry are George and Louise Rashbrook who bought the pub in the summer of 2006.
